In Sum 25 years old this year, I've been working as a lighting and compositing artist since May 2009. Having been fortunate enough to be exposed to CG movies and video games as a kid, I got interested in computer graphics when I was still in school. I've since aspired to further my career as a lighting/compositing artist, but also maintained interest in other aspects of production such as character modelling and texturing. Many films and games inspire me, but a big inspiration in my creative life is Hiroyuki Okiura's Jin-Roh and much of Mamoru Oshii's work. I also enjoyed Blade Runner immensely. Funny thing is I played the game before watching the movie. Outside of creative/CG hobbies, I enjoy short to medium-distance running and gym. I also enjoy going out to sea during my navy in-camp training. |
- The Clone Wars I did lighting and compositing for this show, taking animated shots and lighting them based on concept art provided, as well as established shots from senior artists. In addition to my regular responsibilities, I also contributed a few improvements to the show's look. - Legend of the Sea I took on this contract job while waiting to be enlisted in the Singapore Armed Forces. I did a variety of things such as lighting and comping a full advertising sequence, and creating facial blend shapes. I also fixed certain pipeline issues that the production was having, and modelled one human character. - Internship at Egg Story Creative Production I did editing of the movie trailers as the shots were being finished, rendered updates of it for dailies and also cut alternative versions for their creative director's consideration. I did simple lighting for background elements for certain shots in the trailer.
Non-Production Work Experience - Teaching assistant at Institute of Technical Education I took this job before enlistment as well, teaching students drawing fundamentals and Photoshop basics. I also guided 3 students through a holiday project, a 2d animated short.
